The top 10 countries to which applications for asylum were submitted were: the United Kingdom (110,700 applications), the United States (81,100), Germany (71,100), France (50,800), Austria (37,100), Canada (33,400), Sweden (33,000), Switzerland (26,200), Belgium (18,800), and the Netherlands (18,700).
